Litty Lyrics
[Intro: Whoopi Goldberg]
This is the story of a pair nobody understood in the beginning
But completely got in the end
It’s a story of heartache and redemption, peace and war, loss and gain, trial and triumph, lies and truth, love and lust, death and rebirth, sin and salvation
Maybe you’ve heard a little bit about their tale before
But now, they’re telling it all, withholding nothing
A soldier and his woman, roughing it through life’s trails
[Verse 1: Tanya Trotter]
Thinking of a time when life was much simpler
You was doing you, when I was doing me, and we was doing each other
In the best way every minute of the day, making a believer that
Love feels better than pain
[Verse 2: Tanya Trotter]
Fifteen years in, purity and sin, we’ve been getting litty
Drunk in love from each other’s cup, we been getting tipsy
You’re my wine and I’m your gin, let’s keep gettin’ busy
Who said we have to slow down?
[Chorus: Michael Trotter Jr. & Tanya Trotter]
Foot on the gas, no breaks
This is what keeps heartaches away
Can’t feel my face, I’m a little giddy
Roll me up, smoke me up
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get, let’s get, let’s get, let’s get litty
[Verse 3: Michael Trotter Jr.]
Walking it out, talkin’ about, doing this thing forever
Since 2010, October 10, we’ve been forever
Drinking you in got me intoxicated
I’m loving this hangover
[Chorus: Michael Trotter Jr. & Tanya Trotter]
Foot on the gas, no breaks
This is what keeps heartaches away
Can’t feel my face, I’m a little giddy
Roll me up, smoke me up
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get litty
Baby, let’s get, let’s get, let’s get–
[Bridge: Michael Trotter Jr., Tanya Trotter]
You and me somehow make three
Can’t you see we’re eternally, oh
Together, you and I together till we die
Oh, you baby
Oh, you’ll never walk alone
Never leave you on your own
Oh, baby, you and me
Oh, baby, yeah
You and me
Oh, baby we’ll shine forever, baby
[Outro: Whoopi Goldberg]
So if you’re at home, grab your glass of wine or whiskey
If you’re at a bar, tell the bartender to pour you a couple of longnecks
Get comfortable, y’all, ’cause we’re gonna take you for a ride now
This is the story of Michael and Tanya
