EGO ATROPHY Lyrics
[Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
Keep me close to water, keep me close to God
Free me from my demons, keep love in my heart
I believe in freedom, more life and inner peace
Thankful that I’m breathing, it’s my ego atrophy
[Post-Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
(Yeah, yeah) Yeah
It’s my ego atrophy
[Verse 1: Jessie Reyez]
I listen more than I speak (I speak)
Whenever I hear a heartbeat
Yeah, I let the light shine bright (Bright, bright, bright)
I let the light sine bright
I am not my thoughts, no (No, no, no, no, no)
I am just a watcher
Community conscious light (Light, light, light)
(You know, you know, yeah, I)
[Pre-Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
Got about a billion dollars in my energy
Got about a billion dollars in my energy
I find my peace when I let it go, let it go
I find my peace when I, when I let it be
[Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
Keep me close to water, keep me close to God
Free me from my demons and keep love in my heart
I believe in freedom, life and inner peace
Thankful that I’m breathing, it’s my ego atrophy
[Post-Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
Yeah, yeah, yeah (Ego)
It’s my ego atrophy
Mm, yeah (Ego)
[Verse 2: Jessie Reyez]
Bob Marley in my headphones (I’m feelin’ alright)
In my mind, he echoes (My richness is life)
One love is the ultra vibe, vibe, vibe, vibe
I am not perfection (Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
But I am creation (I am creation)
Alchemy inside my mind, mind, mind
(They said, “Who are you?” I am you, I)
[Pre-Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
Got about a billion dollars in my energy
Got about a billion dollars in my energy
I find my peace when I let it go, let it go
I find my peace when I, when I let it be
[Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
So keep me close to water, keep me close to God
Free me from my demons and keep love in my heart
I believe in freedom, in life and inner peace
Thankful that I’m breathing, it’s my ego atrophy
[Post-Chorus: Jessie Reyez]
(Ego)
(Ego)
[IBridge: Bob Marley, Jessie Reyez]
People believe that death is stronger than life
But we know that life is stronger than death (Keep me close)
So, life is the road, you know? (Keep me close to God)
God create I and I don’t want no life no obligation (Keep me close)
That means you’re your own man, that is first and you own yourself (Keep me close)
You do what you want to do
Anything people want to say about you, you don’t care (Keep me close)
Possessions make you rich? (Keep me close)
I don’t, I don’t have that type of richness (Keep me close to God)
My richness is life, forever
[Outro: Jessie Reyez]
Keep me close, keep me close, keep me close
Keep me close to God
Keep me close, keep me close, keep me close
Keep me close to God
