Don’t Say That Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I’m coming home, leave the light on
Yeah, you are the one that I’ve come to rely on
Oh, I drifted away and I’m praying that I’m wrong
Keep me in the dark if it’s next to you
[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t tell me what you’re thinking
‘Cause, honestly, I’m scared to death that I already know
When you call, I’ll let the phone keep ringing
Ringing out so I don’t have to hear you let me go
[Chorus]
Come on now, don’t say that
Don’t do something you can’t take back
Know I sound like a maniac
I just don’t wanna know (Ooh, ooh)
So just make it up
If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me up
Get me drunk on a half-full cup
‘Cause I just don’t wanna know (Ooh, ooh)
[Verse 2]
I know my hеaring’s selective
If I don’t likе the truth, then I’ll just reject it
It’s all just a matter of perspective
And everything’s fine from my point of view
[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t tell me what you’re thinking
‘Cause, honestly, I’m scared to death that I already know
When you call, I’ll let the phone keep ringing
Ringing out so I don’t have to hear you let me go
[Chorus]
Come on now, don’t say that
Don’t do something you can’t take back
Know I sound like a maniac
I just don’t wanna know (Oh, no, ooh, ooh)
So just make it up (Up)
If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me up (Wake me up)
Get me drunk on a half-full cup (Half-full cup)
‘Cause I just don’t wanna know (Oh, no, ooh, ooh)
[Bridge]
Maybe it’s time to accept that it’s over
It’s best that you go
It’s been so nice to know ya
I promise I won’t try to change your made-up mind
Maybe I just don’t have it in me
If I have to put it simply
Oh, I can’t see a future (Ooh, ooh)
If you’re not in it with me
You keep talking about closure
Keep saying that I told ya
Well, if this is over
(I don’t want to know, so, baby)
[Chorus]
Don’t say that
Don’t do something you can’t take back
Know I sound like a maniac
I just don’t wanna know (Don’t wanna know, ooh, ooh)
So just make it up
If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me up (Ooh, ooh)
Get me drunk on a half-full cup (Ooh, ooh)
‘Cause I just don’t wanna know (Ooh, ooh)
